New: Side Effect App

The Netherlands Pharmacovigilance Centre Lareb launched a Side Effect App. In addition to reporting side effects you can receive news about side effects. The App is suitable for both healthcare professionals, caregivers and patients.

The Side Effects App (in Dutch Bijwerking App) has a short report form that allows you to quickly report an side effect. You can also view all reported side effects at Lareb through the App. Additionally, you can receive self-defined drug list updates. And, if desired, be kept informed of the latest news about side effects. The App is available for iOS and Android.

The reporting of suspected adverse reactions is crucial for a reliable safety monitoring of medicines. Collect, record and analyze data on adverse reactions provides important (new) knowledge. A large proportion of the detected security risks and subsequent measures, therefore, are the result of reports of health care providers and patients.

The App was developed as part of the IMI WEB RADRs project (www.imi.europa.eu or www.web-radr.eu).
