Open day for patient organisations
In order to strengthen the bond between patient organisations and the pharmacovigilance centre, Lareb held an open day for representatives from patient organisations. The main topic of the day was ‘collaboration’, especially how the pharmacovigilance centre and patient organisations could collaborate for mutual benefit for both parties. Approximately 50 interested patient organisations were present.
After presentations and workshops it was concluded that patient organisations want to be informed about adverse drug reactions. And, they are willing to spread information to their members about adverse drug reactions in general and reporting to the pharmacovigilance centre. An open day for patient organisations is a good opportunity to gain insight in their specific needs. In addition, it is an opportunity for them to learn about the work of a pharmacovigilance centre. Together we look back at a successful day!
